In Baturité, Ceará, in the interior of Brazil, an elderly couple who had spent years living with drought saw a well at their home finally produce water. They came closer, got soaked, and played as if they were eight years old. One of them knelt in front of the stream. The other jumped right in, not caring about their clothes.
Influencer Rayane Vieira Inácio, from the same region, shared the video on her @rayane_vieira09 account with a phrase that sums it all up: “Only those from the Northeast will understand”. After all, in that region, where water may be scarce for entire months and determines whether a family has enough to drink, bathe, or feed the animals, a well that starts flowing again is not a minor detail. It is the difference between holding on and not.
