Oliver Tree was 32 years old and was enjoying Brazil like any excited tourist. On June 13, he uploaded to Instagram a video titled “Gringo for 24 hours in Brazil”, recorded alongside influencer Iae Break: outings, laughter, and a World Cup in his hands while he joked about Brazil’s chances at the 2026 World Cup. It was his last post. 🎶

The next day, June 14, two private helicopters collided in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes area, in Rio de Janeiro. There were no survivors. Six people died, including Oliver Tree himself, Argentine YouTuber Gaspi, and director Lucas Vignale. The singer was in the country as part of his world tour, days after his concert in São Paulo. 🕊️

When the news was confirmed, thousands of fans flooded that cheerful video and turned it into a farewell mural. Iae Break, who hours earlier had commented “American for the 1st time in Brazil” with laughter, was one of the first to confirm his death. The video is still there, with the same smile, with the same World Cup in his hands.
