At Fratton Park, during the match between Portsmouth and Cardiff City in the English Championship, Polish defender Krystian Bielik went to get the ball for a throw-in. A young local fan had it and did not hand it over immediately. Bielik, 27 and a former Arsenal player, grabbed him by the neck in front of the entire stadium. The boy did not stay quiet: he returned the gesture with a slap squarely in the face.
What caused the most outrage was not only the aggression, but also what happened afterward. Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy came out in support of his player at a press conference and even praised the way the referee handled the situation. The English Football Association is now considering whether Bielik should be sanctioned, while the video is already spreading all over social media ⚽
