A young man caused a stir in a bar in St. Petersburg after being thrown out for causing a disturbance. As he was leaving, the guards sprayed pepper spray directly into his eyes. Desperate from the burning, the man couldn’t think of a better idea than to urinate on his face to get relief.

Science is clear: doing this is a terrible idea. Urine does not relieve the effects of capsaicin and adds bacteria that worsen the irritation, risking a severe corneal infection that could cost him his sight.

Trying to calm the burning in your eyes by resorting to the most unhygienic fluid is not the smartest thing to do.
