A serious pedestrian accident occurred on the public road on the night of Sunday, May 17, 2026, causing severe and painful injuries to a 21-year-old passerby.
The affected woman, identified as Juliana Mara Schiel, was walking along the sidewalk in Cuiabá, Brazil, with her pet named Pitu when a section of the pavement unexpectedly gave way beneath her feet. The victim fell directly into the void and suffered several broken teeth, in addition to sprains in her joints. A group of pedestrians managed to rescue her from the pit after hearing the animal’s barks, which alerted them to the danger in the street.
After the incident, the local Department of Infrastructure and Public Works proceeded to cordon off the area to prevent further injuries, while Juliana is receiving painkillers and eating soft foods in the hospital.
