Jonathan Bailey shut himself in a recording booth with one very simple goal: to give a voice to literature’s most famous count in a major audio fiction production.
The British actor who won the world over as Fiyero in Wicked and Anthony Bridgerton in Bridgerton, and who has already been crowned the sexiest man alive by People magazine, decided to take a chance on a project that didn’t put his image at the center.
No costumes or cameras: just a microphone, headphones, and that voice that seems to whisper something in your ear at midnight. The problem is, the voice worked a little too well.
I got pregnant just from listening to him.
Audible revealed the full cast on social media, with Ella Purnell as Mina Harker and Maggie Gyllenhaal as Van Helsing, but it was the behind-the-scenes videos, where Bailey whispers into the microphone with his hands on his chest, that went viral. And judging by the comments, people apparently aren’t afraid of any vampire anymore.
This is gothic romance! Over-the-top and dramatic and so intense!
If you want to see what everyone’s talking about, it’s already available on Audible. Just use it at your own risk: after hearing Dracula whisper, no one is ever the same again. 🦇
