Dave Fink and other creators linked to the account @everywhereweplaygolf found themselves at the center of controversy after videos went viral showing them hitting golf balls at buildings and toward traffic-filled streets in Los Angeles. What seems like fun content to them is, for many residents, a tragedy waiting to happen.
A golf ball can exceed 160 km/h when struck, a speed enough to break windows, cause accidents, or seriously injure a person.
Even so, the videos show shots taken from rooftops, parking lots, and sidewalks, often in the direction of moving vehicles. Users demanded an investigation and questioned how anyone could consider this a joke.
