A Japanese father sparked controversy on social media after being filmed inside the subway while hugging, kissing, and showering his young son with affection in front of the other passengers. The video quickly racked up thousands of comments, as many people considered the displays of affection excessive and even uncomfortable for those traveling nearby.
The controversy grew even more because the YouTube channel that originally shared the footage posted it with a harsh title that said: “If you see a person like this on the train, report them immediately”, implying that the man’s behavior could be annoying or inappropriate.
While some users defended the father, others said that the level of constant physical contact inside a closed public space seemed exaggerated to them.
