The police were waiting outside. Kodak Black was still eating.

An officer’s body camera in Pompano Beach, Florida, captured the moment: the rapper, sitting in the doorway of a black SUV on May 14, 2026, was calmly finishing a takeout meal while the officers waited their turn to process him. “He’s very hungry”, one of them commented.

Bill Kahan Kapri, his real name, turned himself in that day on charges of fleeing the police and resisting authority, stemming from a February pursuit involving a pink Jeep. He paid 3.500 dollars in bail and was released the next day. The video, which only went viral in September, revealed something that goes beyond a lunch: the difference between how the law treats a famous person and how anyone else in the same situation suffers under it. Kapri has an extensive record and also faces a separate case for MDMA trafficking in Orange County.
