She was sleeping in the upper bunk of an overnight train in China. Below, an unknown man could not take his eyes off her feet. What began as a stare turned into something much more uncomfortable: he brought his face closer and began smelling them, again and again, while she recorded.
Another passenger captured the scene on video without either of them noticing. The man can be seen repeatedly leaning toward the lower bunk, his face almost pressed against the woman’s feet, in an act that unfolds for several seconds on camera.
The clip leaked onto Chinese social media and from there made its way to international platforms. No one has yet identified the man or confirmed a formal complaint, but the video continues circulating as a silent warning for those traveling alone at night.
