The tragedy of 62 year old Leonice Aparecida Moscon has shocked Brazil. The woman was found dead inside her home in the city of Sertãozinho, in the state of São Paulo, with multiple stab wounds. Her son-in-law, 28 year old Ygor Christian Felizardo was arrested for the crime and remains in pretrial detention as the investigation continues.
After the crime, one of the victim’s daughters broke her silence and said that the suspect had displayed violent behavior for years: “He was always violent. He always assaulted my sister. If anyone confronted him, he responded aggressively. He always wanted to show that he could impose himself”, the woman told local media.
According to the investigation, the man was arrested shortly after the crime. Police noted that he had an injury on one hand and are also investigating clothing with possible bloodstains and a knife that was seized for forensic examination.
Authorities are also analyzing whether there was a possible financial motive. According to information gathered during the investigation, the victim had recently requested a loan equivalent to about 13 thousand Brazilian reais, information that emerged during relatives’ statements.
