When Michael Palacios tried to use the bathroom at McDonald’s in Manhattan, the security guard denied him because, supposedly, its use was not allowed at that hour, no one imagined that this would trigger a dangerous fight.
The frustration escalated quickly after exchanging insults with other customers who got involved in the dispute. Three men lunged at him and began hitting him. It was then that Palacios, after taking several punches, pulled an axe out of his backpack.
While the attackers backed away in panic, he smashed tables and glass walls to “make sure they would not touch him again”. Michael admitted that he had been drinking and that he usually carries the weapon to defend himself from drivers on the street. He now faces charges for weapons possession and criminal damage.
