A climber experienced seconds of terror on Mount Everest, in Nepal, after falling while crossing a huge crevasse using five joined metal ladders, a common but very risky method in the dangerous Khumbu Icefall.

The moment was captured on video and shows how the man was left hanging over the void while trying to cling to the structure to avoid falling to the bottom. Fortunately, other mountaineers reacted quickly and managed to rescue him before a tragedy occurred.

Although his identity was not revealed, it was confirmed that he survived and was examined at base camp without serious injuries.
