A hairless Xoloitzcuintle walked through the streets of a fair in the United States, and although its owners or the person who recorded the video are unknown, the repercussions were not long in coming.
The dog apparently uncomfortably displayed its dozens of piercings and another dozen tattoos all over its body. This outraged social media users because of the suffering it was unnecessarily made to endure, especially since these practices are considered animal cruelty in much of the world and, if real, its owners could be punished legally.
However, a review of the images suggests that both the piercings and the tattoos are fake, due to the way they appear on the canine’s skin. So perhaps its style was merely a costume. Although, until its owners clarify this, the threat against them will remain.
