No one in Warsaw expected to see this on an ordinary Monday.
Some 30 robots, humanoid and quadrupedal, marched on September 7, 2026, in front of Poland’s Ministry of Digital Affairs. They waved flags, and slogans such as “defend jobs” and “don’t wait, regulate” rang out from their loudspeakers. The march was organized by Grzegorz Kulis, the director of an employment agency, through the Democratism initiative, to demand that the country control the unchecked advance of Artificial Intelligence.
Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski approached Kulis to talk and acknowledged that unregulated AI models in humanoid robots are a serious problem. Among the protesters was Agibot A3, an AI-powered robot that told AFP that the technology is already an impossible-to-ignore reality. Poland had already approved a law in July to strengthen European oversight of AI, but this time it was the machines themselves that took to the streets to demand limits.
