Amanda Oliveira was 20 years old and only wanted to confirm her pregnancy.
She went to the LP Saúde clinic in Brazil for a routine ultrasound. She already knew the place and was familiar with the procedure. What she did not expect was for an unknown woman, identified as the wife of gynecologist Flávio Paes and an employee at the facility, to interrupt her in the middle of the appointment and berate her over the clothes she was wearing.
According to her own account, the woman grabbed her by the hair and slapped her while Amanda remained on the examination table, half-dressed. That was when she started recording. The video went viral within hours, the clinic issued a public apology and immediately removed the doctor from his position, and the Civil Police of Pernambuco opened an investigation. However, during the process, they discovered that the woman did not have a medical degree, along with a dozen other irregularities at the facility that put the health center in serious trouble.
