A curious video went viral on social media after showing a little girl convinced that she had a huge worm living in her stomach because of junk food.
In the footage, an adult shows her a supposed ultrasound featuring an animated cartoon worm. Although it is clearly not a real medical image, the girl watches the screen very closely and seems to fully believe the explanation.
As he shows her the image, the man asks her whether she will keep eating candy and junk food. The little girl responds by shaking her head to say no.
“Eat well from now on, okay? Look at that bug, isn’t it scary?”, the adult tells her while continuing to point at the supposed parasite.
Some posts claim that the man is the girl’s father and that he used this method after failing to get her to change her eating habits. However, other users maintain that he is not her dad, since at the end he says “very good, take this girl away”.
Regardless of who the adult is, the scene divided opinions. While some considered it a creative and effective way to convince the girl to eat healthier, others criticized the use of fear as an educational tool and noted that specialists recommend teaching good habits through example and education, rather than creating fear.
What is certain is that the little girl’s expression upon seeing the supposed “worm” made the moment one of the most talked-about videos of recent days.
