An unusual dental procedure is drawing attention on social media. A surgeon removed a tooth embedded in a patient’s tongue tissue, an anomaly known as ectopic tooth eruption.
The video, shared by the Indonesian clinic @dokter_ndeso, shows the specialist using surgical forceps to grasp the tooth and carefully remove it. And the most surprising part is that it wasn’t in the jaw or gums, but inside the tongue!
This type of abnormality is extremely rare and may be related to developmental anomalies or the displacement of dental structures. After the extraction, a visible hole remained in the tongue tissue, although the video does not show the healing process or provide any information about the patient’s clinical history.
