The water spared nothing in its path. 🌊
In Nuwakot, Nepal, the collapse of a glacier on the border with China unleashed a flood that, on August 26, swept away houses, cars, and entire streets. In the middle of that chaos, only one remained: a light-green-painted home, with the family taking refuge on the balcony while the Trishuli River swallowed everything around it.

The images went viral because they seem impossible: mud surrounds the structure on all four sides, and yet neither its walls nor its foundations give way. Some attribute it to luck, to being outside the main channel of the flow.

Others attribute it to the compact shape of the house, which may have divided the current. The truth is that the entire family escaped unharmed, while the disaster has already left more than 550 dead and thousands missing in the region. 🙏
