The opulence of the Met Gala was overshadowed by a protest that did not go unnoticed. In his role as honorary co-chair, Jeff Bezos was the main target of the group Everyone Hates Elon, which placed 300 bottles of “urine” around the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where this year’s gala was held.

The protest seeks to denounce the allegedly “inhumane” working conditions faced by the company’s delivery drivers, who have even reported that the pressure to meet targets prevents them from taking bathroom breaks.

Although the visual impact caused a stir among attendees, the organization clarified that it was a staged display. The liquid inside the containers was simply water with food coloring. This tactic aims to bring visibility to the demands of workers who say they are constantly monitored on their routes.
