“Loves, do you remember I told you there had been a Moroccan invasion and that maybe the love of my life would come in a small boat?” 😳
That is how the video by Lucía Pérez, a Spanish TikToker, began, while Ceuta was experiencing hours of tension due to mass attempts to cross from Morocco.
She then showed a photo of a young Moroccan man crossing the border and concluded with laughter: “Literally, the love of my life has arrived in Spain… let them all in, let them all come here” 🚨.
For her, it was a joke. For thousands of people in Ceuta, it was their reality.
The response was immediate: “It is very disrespectful to trivialize what is happening in Ceuta with this nonsense”, a user wrote to her.
Others went further: they invited her to set foot in the autonomous city and see with her own eyes what she had turned into viral content.
Where is the line between humor and disrespect? 🤔
