A woman was at the center of a scene that quickly went viral on social media inside a Walmart in the United States, after another shopper called her “poor” in front of several people. Upset by the comment, she took out her phone, opened her banking app, and showed her balance in front of everyone. More than 6,500 dollars available in her account.
Some customers were surprised, and a woman could even be heard saying: “She’s not poor, she’s rich!”. While some applauded the way she defended herself, others mocked her by saying that she was “only a millionaire in thousands”.
The figure seemed normal until many remembered that currently about 43% of Americans could not even cover a 400 emergency. A simple insult in a store ended up exposing a financial reality that made thousands uncomfortable.
