She was talking to her 5-year-old daughter in Santa Rosa, California, when she grabbed a bottle from her vanity without looking twice.
The problem was that the night before, she had used that same space to apply fake nails to the girl, and forgot to put the glue away. The containers were nearly identical.
The burning was immediate, and she instinctively closed her eye. That was enough for the eyelid to become completely sealed shut. 😳
Her fiancé tried to help her before calling emergency services: firefighters and an ambulance arrived, and at the hospital they had to administer anesthesia, cut off her eyelashes, and use a scalpel to open the glue between her eyelids.
She was left with scratches on her cornea and blurred vision for days, but she was able to regain use of her eye. Now she promises one thing: never again leave the glue near her eye drops. 👁️
