A woman identified as María de los Ángeles, 59, ended up hospitalized after suffering more than 200 stings during a brutal bee attack in the Pemex neighborhood of Culiacán, in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico.
The incident occurred on the morning of April 20, 2026, when the woman was walking down the street and was suddenly surrounded by the swarm. Witnesses recorded how, already out of strength, she clung to a light pole while trying to get the bees out of her hair.
Emergency personnel and soldiers arrived at the scene and used a fire extinguisher to disperse the insects before taking her to a hospital, where she was declared out of danger.
