A conversation between a mother and her son is getting people talking on TikTok.
The main figure is Whitney Robertson, who decided to share a video in which she explains that her son made an unexpected comment about the way she dresses.
“I was told I should wear a better bra and shirts that weren’t so tight”, Whitney says at the beginning of the video, while her son remains by her side.
As the content creator explains, the boy is uncomfortable that tight shirts make her bust more noticeable and would prefer that she wear less form-fitting clothes.
The upset boy tells her, “I can literally see my friends looking at your breasts, because they stick out like a sore thumb”.
“I can’t help that”, she replies.
“And your nipples are showing”, the little boy added.
The mother then explained that maybe it was cold and, so that other people could see what she was wearing, she handed the phone to her son.
“This is what I mean, they’re literally hanging out”, the boy told her.
“What thing?”, she asked.
“Your boobs”, he replied, “it’s like you’re without clothes”.
Far from getting angry, Whitney decided to take the situation with humor and turn the conversation into a topic of debate for her followers.
As expected, reactions were quick to appear.
Some users felt that the boy’s comment simply reflects age-related discomfort and that it is positive that he feels confident enough to express what he thinks to his mother.
Others, however, argued that a son should not feel entitled to tell a woman how to dress, arguing that this kind of comment can contribute to women feeling that they must change their appearance to avoid making others uncomfortable.
