Something didn’t add up about those “pandas”, and their tails ended up giving them away 😂.
The scene took place at the Taizhou Zoo in China, where several visitors arrived, drawn by animals that, at first glance, appeared to be small pandas. But as they got closer, doubts began to arise: they moved like dogs, panted, wagged their tails, and their behavior had very little to do with that of a bear.
The explanation came shortly afterward. They weren’t pandas, but Chow Chow dogs dyed black and white to imitate the appearance of China’s most iconic animal.
The zoo defended the idea, insisting that it had never officially presented them as real pandas, but rather as “panda dogs”. Even so, the images went viral and sparked a debate over the use of dyes on animals and the way the attraction was promoted.
In the end, it wasn’t a poorly placed black stripe that gave them away: it was those little tails wagging happily as if they had never intended to fool anyone.
