Someone happened to film them, and that video ended up spreading across TikTok and X in a matter of hours. They gave it a name that could only have been born in Argentina: “La Perroneta”, playing on the word that gets used so much when the national team goes out to celebrate.
Amid the fever over the 2026 World Cup, this street scene became the simplest and most widely shared gesture: ordinary dogs, dressed like idols, walking together through the city as if love for the jersey could also be taken for a walk on a leash.
