“I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing Tatum and said to him: ‘Hey, if I eat less and get a trainer, will I get in better shape?’ He said to me: ‘Yes, idiot, of course you will.’ It’s the simplest thing in the world”; Jonan Hill to Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on The Tonight Show in 2016.

Jonah Hill had gained nearly 18 kilos to get into character for ‘War Dogs’ in 2015. 🎬 When he wanted to reverse course, he did what anyone would do with a trusted friend: he called Channing Tatum, his co-star in ’21 Jump Street’, and asked him whether eating less and working out would really work.

Tatum’s response had no filter. He called him “idiot” and said, laughing, that of course it would work, that it was the simplest thing in the world. Hill recounted the whole scene on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’ in June 2017, and the internet was quick to repeat it in every meme about fitness motivation. 💪

The funny thing is that Tatum was right. Hill completed his physical transformation by following that advice, which was as simple as it was uncomfortable to hear.
