Lyn May was one of the biggest stars in Mexican entertainment during the 70s, admired for her beauty and her talent as an actress and dancer. However, an aesthetic procedure ended up changing her face forever.
According to her account, when she was around 30, two women offered to improve her cheekbones with injections that supposedly contained collagen. Trusting them, she agreed.
But what she received was something very different.

“They injected me with cooking oil”, she confessed decades later. She even recalled that the women used a baby bottle to fill the syringes.
At first, everything seemed fine, but about a year later, hard, painful lumps began to appear, deforming her features.
The transformation affected her deeply. “I don’t want to look at myself in a mirror anymore”, she recalled thinking during a period when she even considered taking her own life.

Lyn spent years searching for doctors who could remove the substances from her face, although each procedure could leave new scars.
Despite everything, she continued her career and found the strength to carry on thanks to her mother’s support.
“The most natural is the most beautiful”, is the advice she now shares with young women.
