Terry Ward is 64 years old, lives in Richmond, Virginia, and had a date with Sunday Night Football on the night of Sunday, October 11, 2026.
According to the criminal complaint, his wife said he tied her to a chair with duct tape in the basement and left her there for between 30 and 45 minutes while the game was being watched upstairs. When police arrived at the home, near Byrd Park, at around 11:30 pm after receiving a report of a domestic dispute, officers observed marks and remnants of tape on the woman’s arms.
An officer wrote in the report that Ward admitted to tying her up and locking her in the basement. According to Univision, he allegedly said he did it so he could watch the game “in peace”. He now faces a felony kidnapping charge and another charge of assault against a family member. These are allegations: there has been no conviction, and neither Ward nor his defense has spoken publicly.
