Camilo Nuin was 18 and about to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional footballer. He was captain of San Telmo’s reserve team and had just received the news that he would be promoted to the first team when he tore his ligaments during training.

On June 25, 2025, he was admitted to Clínica Espora in Adrogué to undergo knee surgery that, according to his family, had been scheduled as a two-hour outpatient procedure. However, he suffered cardiac arrest during the procedure and died. Camilo was a healthy young man, and his preoperative tests had shown normal results.
His family began investigating what happened in the operating room. The case was classified as negligent homicide due to malpractice, and the anesthesiologist is, so far, the only person charged. The investigation is examining, among other aspects, what happened during the administration of the anesthesia and the circumstances surrounding the cardiac arrest.

According to his mother’s account, the autopsy showed damage to different organs, and the medical records did not indicate the amount of anesthesia administered. These elements are part of an investigation that remains in the preliminary investigation stage.
