Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries began their relationship in 2010 and, just a few months later, got engaged. In August 2011, they married in a million-dollar televised wedding, but now Kim admits that even before walking down the aisle, something inside her was telling her it wasn’t right.

She was about to turn 30, and Kim felt she was falling behind. While her friends were already married, she began to wonder why she still hadn’t started a family. Now, in Jonathan Van Meter’s book Citizen Kim, she admits that this pressure influenced her decision to get married.

“I knew it before we got married, deep in my soul”, Kim says. She thought they were simply pre-wedding jitters, but her intuition was already telling her something else. Even so, she went ahead: canceling the ceremony meant, in her view, risking the press dubbing her the “runaway bride”.

The wedding, valued at around US$10 million, ended in a marriage that lasted just 72 days. Today, Kim admits she should have listened to that feeling that had been there from the very beginning.
