An 8-year-old boy was stopped by marine police in Sarasota, Florida, while driving a jet ski alone with his parents nowhere nearby. In the bodycam video, an officer asks him directly: “Where are your parents?”, before the child led him to his dad.
The father admitted he knew his son was probably not legally old enough to drive it, but argued that the boy was “very skilled” because they had been using jet skis together for years. However, Florida law requires operators of this type of vehicle to be at least 14 years old, so the man will now have to face justice. The case has already sparked debate on social media: was it too much trust or irresponsibility?
