Caitlin Hellyer is 1,10 meters tall, has achondroplasia, and her boyfriend, Guy Pritchard, is 1,72. A difference of more than 50 centimeters that doesn’t go unnoticed.
According to this model from the Forest of Dean in England, people stare at them, take photos, and sometimes think she is his little sister. She has even been mistaken for a child. And online, she says, the comments are even crueler: users accuse Guy of having lost a bet, and one person wrote to her on TikTok that she should date “people of her own kind”.
Caitlin replied that people with dwarfism are human, not aliens or fantasy characters. She called the idea that she looks like a child ridiculous. She also says she prefers a man of average height because that’s who she’s attracted to, and she doesn’t have to justify it.
She says Guy is a man of his word and very genuine. With him, she says, she feels safe and protected.
