Alisha Lehmann has spoken publicly about the pay inequality that exists between women’s and men’s football.
The Swiss footballer questioned the major economic differences between men and women who play football professionally and expressed her concern about the lack of equality.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, she said: “We do the same job, but they get paid a hundred times more than me. It affects me because I am a woman”.
With these statements, Lehmann highlighted that, from her perspective, female footballers face a significant pay gap despite playing the same sport professionally.
She also argued that there is still a long way to go to achieve greater equality and that a strong commitment would be necessary to bring about changes in this direction.
