Sydney Sweeney, 28, stars in Novig’s new commercial, an app for sports betting in which she is also a partner and shareholder. In the spot, she appears practically naked, covered only with tennis balls, rugby balls, and sports equipment.
Marissa Womack, a manager of a minor league baseball team in Harrisburg, uploaded a video explaining that this isn’t about jealousy: “It’s already a male-dominated field where we constantly have to prove why we belong”.

Other users called the ad “awful” and “inappropriate”, and even pointed out a double standard on social media for allowing it while deleting similar content from ordinary female users.

On the other hand, many defend Sweeney, arguing that she was simply doing an advertising job and that the reaction is disproportionate. Is sexualizing a woman’s body to sell sports betting a step backward for female athletes, or is it just another campaign that shouldn’t generate so much controversy? What do you think?
