Florence Pugh demanded that men stop looking the other way. On Instagram, she asked them to feel the same horror women feel over allegations of sexual violence linked to Cornell: “We need our men to be as horrified and shocked as we are, and to be angry for and with us”.
Jane Doe, a former Cornell student, accuses seven members of the Chi Phi fraternity in a lawsuit of abusing her in October 2024. The allegations have not yet been proven in court, and after the lawsuit was filed, the prosecutor reopened the criminal investigation into the case.

The actress questioned how women can be expected to trust that “not all men” are like that when, in situations like this, many remain silent.

Pugh criticized those who, according to her reading of the reports, knew what had happened and did not act, whether men or women. Then, the actress said Instagram had limited her post, citing the lack of visibility given to these cases, and shared it again.
