The “The Diplomat” actress appeared on Chelsea Handler’s “Dear Chelsea” podcast and shared how things got started with her co-star on “The Americans”, Matthew Rhys. While they were filming the series, the two were falling in love, and, as she recalled, they stayed up all night.
“We were falling in love, staying up all night, and having sex all the time in costume”, she recounted with a laugh, remembering the outrageous wigs and pearls that were part of her characters’ wardrobe. The encounters, she added, took place in the trailers and other corners of the set 😅
In fiction, they were married. In real life, that chemistry ended up becoming the foundation of a relationship that has lasted more than a decade and that they have a child together from: Sam, born in 2016. Sometimes the script writes itself.
