Pedro Jared had a method. Every time Wendy Gabriela tried to leave him, he would take out his phone, record himself pretending he was going to take his own life, and send her the video. He did it five times. Five times Wendy, 21, backed down.

That was not all. The 23-year-old IMSS nurse kept her locked up with a padlock in his home in the La Guadalupana subdivision, Ecatepec, and watched her constantly. His family threatened to release intimate photos of Wendy if she reported him. The siege was total.

On March 10, 2026, when Wendy told him she was leaving, Pedro Jared stabbed her more than 25 times: face, neck, abdomen, and a lung. She remained in a coma for 4 days. She survived. He was arrested on April 26 at an Alcoholics Anonymous group in Atlacomulco and formally charged with attempted femicide. The judge applied a gender perspective and ordered justified pretrial detention. Four relatives were also arrested for covering it up.
