Carli Ayma had already said goodbye to the 2026 pilgrimage to Luján when one detail changed her journey home.
Near the first bridge, her mom spotted a little dog alone among the crowd of pilgrims. She didn’t think twice: she picked her up and carried her in her arms all the way to the Basilica. And because of her, she made another decision: not to enter the church, but to wait outside with the little dog held close to her chest.
The return trip was almost a clandestine journey. They rode the direct bus home “on the sly”. Now, the little one nobody claimed sleeps on a bed, with a red collar and a family that chose her right there along the way.
And so, while thousands walked in search of a miracle, she found hers in the arms of a stranger.
