Camila Silva has been dancing funk in Brazil for more than ten years. On June 10, 2023, during a show by DJ Meury in Monte Alegre, she did what she always does: brought a volunteer onto the stage, held him with her legs, and slammed his face against her buttocks in a move known as ‘surra de bunda’.
This time, something went differently. The man’s arm was bent at an angle no human body should be able to reach, and he lay on the floor while staff rushed to help him. An ambulance took him to a hospital.
Camila later clarified on social media that no one goes onto the stage against their will and that the man had only dislocated his arm, not broken it. The man himself appeared days later with his arm in a sling to confirm that he had already been injured beforehand and that neither Camila nor the DJ was to blame.
