They were adopted by the same mother, were born without arms, and today they say how they feel when people look at them: “It’s like being a zoo exhibit”

Teresa and Anna learned to get dressed, eat, write, and do their hair with their feet. They didn’t do it by choice: they were born without arms, with a congenital condition that affects limb development.

They are sisters through adoption. The same mother raised them from a young age and taught them something that mattered more than any therapy: to trust in what they were capable of doing. Although they share the same condition, each found her own ways to manage day-to-day life.

The hard part came from the outside. Long stares, hurtful comments, prejudice. Teresa says that when they go out together, she feels people look at them “like a zoo exhibit”. And they don’t want to be the center of attention.

That’s why they opened their social media accounts: to show their routine, answer questions, and demonstrate that a person with a disability can study, work, have friends, and achieve their dreams. Their message fits in one line: they’re like anyone else, they just sometimes do things differently. ❤️
