If you’ve ever wondered what became of Bubbles, Michael Jackson’s iconic chimpanzee, he is now 43 years old and living a peaceful life at the Center for Great Apes in Florida.

Acquired in the 1980s, Bubbles was once the inseparable companion of the King of Pop. However, as he grew bigger and stronger, he became too unpredictable to live in a home. He later spent time with trainer Bob Dunn before being moved to the sanctuary in 2005, where he now weighs around 77 kilos and lives alongside other apes.

While most people remember him as the baby chimp by Jackson’s side, Bubbles is now a full-grown adult who even helps care for younger chimpanzees.

Interestingly, Jackson’s estate continues to fund his care, and for his recent “appearance” in the biopic Michael, CGI was used instead of real animals. 🐒
