Some say she was even having trouble walking, and from there, the internet went all in.
Madonna returned to the MTV VMA after 23 years and, although her performance brought together Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX and several cameos, a significant part of the conversation ended up shifting toward how she looked and moved.
Memes about her outfit, comparisons with other looks from her career, and comments about her movements during the show began circulating on social media. Some users claimed she seemed stiffer or slower than usual, although there is no reliable information indicating that there is any health problem behind it.
Her appearance also drew attention, especially among those who compared this performance with other stages of Madonna’s career. And, as often happens whenever she reappears, opinions were divided between those who defended her continuing to do what she wants at 68 and those who were much less kind.
The curious thing is that she had returned to that stage for the first time since 2003, but it only took a few hours for much of the internet to be talking more about her body, her clothes, and her age than about the performance.
And while social media debated whether her look was too much, strange, or simply very Madonna, she did what she always does: take the stage without trying to look like anyone else.
