According to Aguirre, the coach apologized in private for having him warm up without bringing him on and promised to apologize to the press as well. But at the press conference, he defended his authority: for the journalist, that broken promise triggered the departure.
Jesus denied that there had been a dispute and maintained that sporting decisions were his to make. Ronaldo left the camp and announced that he would explain his reasons later.
