Hours after the 2026 World Cup final, during the program ‘Llenos de Mística,’ Juan Ramón Carrasco, 69, a Uruguayan idol and former coach of the Charrúa national team, wanted to make a joke.
“Three women go to the beach…” he began his joke, but before he could continue, journalist Sofía Romano abruptly cut him off, intending to return to talking about football.
Carrasco did not take that interruption well and said: “What’s wrong with her? This young woman is poorly attended to”. This sparked a brief live argument.
Romano did not stay silent: she called him vulgar and demanded professionalism from him on camera. But it was Alejandro Fantino who put an end to it.
“You’re out of line”, he told him bluntly, and stated that he had no desire to share another minute on air with him. He got up and cut the broadcast right there.
Carrasco ended up leaving the studio and apologizing, but the video was already circulating in every corner of social media.
