Before the world called her Lady Gaga, some classmates at New York University were already making fun of her on Facebook. When she was 18, they created a group called “Stefani Germanotta, you will never be famous”, that is, “Stefani Germanotta, you will never be famous”.

Yes, that cruel.

There they harassed her, called her a “clout chaser”, and laughed at her desire to succeed, as if having ambition were something to be ashamed of. At that time she was still Stefani, a student who wanted to devote herself to music and who probably heard more than once that she was dreaming too big.

After a year, she left college to focus completely on her career. And although to many that may have sounded crazy, it ended up being the first step toward everything that came afterward.

Because Lady Gaga didn’t just become famous. She became one of the biggest artists of her generation, won Grammys, an Oscar, filled stadiums, acted in films, and built a career that very few could have imagined back then.

So yes, her classmates made a group to mock her. But over time, that name ended up sounding more like a bad joke than a prediction. Because if one thing became clear, it’s that Stefani Germanotta was indeed going to be famous… far more than they could handle.
