Jennifer Lawrence joined Instagram on September 9, 2026, without any prior announcement. Within hours, she already had nearly one million followers, even though her @jlaw profile remained completely empty: not a single photo or post.

In her stories, she left a message that explains everything: “Please don’t leave nasty or aggressive comments because it affects the baby. That’s me. I am the baby”.

After that, she uploaded a video warning that if she received even one negative comment about something that affected her, she would close the account immediately. The Oscar-winning actress had spent years defining herself as a “digital voyeur”.

She told InStyle in 2018: “I’m in. But I’m a voyeur: I watch, I don’t talk”. In 2022, she admitted that she secretly used TikTok, and in 2025 she confessed that she had been living a “secret life” on the app, getting involved in comment-section fights. Now, she decided to show her face, even if only with the door half-open.
