Lena Dunham, 40, has a daughter. 🤍
The creator of “Girls” told the story herself in an essay published in Vogue on September 16, 2026, and the journey to get there was not simple: at 31, she underwent a hysterectomy after years of chronic pain caused by endometriosis.
Before this birth, she had already experienced a failed surrogacy attempt, which she recounted in her memoir “Famesick”. In that same book, Dunham also spoke about her complicated relationship with Adam Driver, her co-star in “Girls”, and claimed that during filming he became verbally aggressive and, on one occasion, threw a chair against the wall next to her.
Driver was later asked about these claims and replied that he had no comment and would discuss it in his own book.
Apparently, all the bad was left behind because this time the surrogacy worked. Alongside her husband, musician Luis Felber, whom she married in 2021, she awaited the growth of her daughter inside the body of an anonymous surrogate.
“She was growing inside the strong and healthy body of our surrogate, and as the clothes piled up in the box, so too did the feeling that she was becoming a reality”, Dunham wrote.
Vogue published the baby’s first photo on the same day as the announcement.
