In China, a 25-year-old woman identified as Liang, decided to donate one of her kidneys to her 33-year-old husband, identified as Chung. He suffered from severe kidney disease and had been waiting for a transplant for three years.
But the challenge was enormous: since they were not blood relatives, the probability of finding a suitable match was only between 5% and 10%.

Even so, Liang underwent tests to become a donor. Then came the unexpected news: the doctors determined that her kidney could be transplanted into her husband.
They performed the operation in September. The new kidney began functioning and Chung managed to recover from the surgery and return home.
A story made surprising by an unusual coincidence: when the chances of finding a suitable donor were so low, the organ that could save his life was in the person who was by his side.
